People like us

When it comes to social class everyone has their own opinion as to what we are being judged by and who is in what class or if there is any social class to being with but we should all know at the end of the day social class does exist and alot of elements are played into what class u belong it's not only based on money but it's also based on race, where you live, what school you go to, etc. Most Americans would consider themselves as middle school just like in class on Thursday mostly everyone considered themselves as middle class including myself not really knowing whats considered a middle class society. Overall we could like to believe that everyone is the same but in reality since brig we are judged and placed into a social class not everyone could be on the top someone has to be on the bottom and sadly that's just how life is there's no changing how it works.

Thoughts on positive functions of the undeserving poor: uses of the underclass in america

I agree With Herbert's points in the passage about why poor people get stereotyped as criminals all the time. I believe the lack of supervision and lack of involment has alot to do with reasons why poor people are more likey to commit a crime. Most of the childern who are raised in a poor family aren't involved in much activities after school and stuff because their mothers couldn't afford it or what not so they hang out on the block with people who may understand them more which leads to trouble. Also if Thier mother is too busy working to support the family and no ones really around to watch them. Who will be the one to lead them on a right path making sure they do homework instead of hooking up and getting knocked up or getting some knocked up. A part of the passage that stood out to me was that part where me mentioned that Charles Murray argued that welfare and other welfare state legislation for the poor only increase the number of poor people. I remember in high school in one of my classes the teache had us do a whole debate team about the topic of welfare and if it's making people more lazier. I do In a way feel people take advantage of the welfare system and think it's okay to live on welfare for the rest of their life's and keep having kids so they can keep getting money for the government. Overall if the poor wasn't so quickly stereotyped and judged people could open there eyes and see that it's not only the low class commuting the crimes and the legal system should be more equal all social classes should be punised or rewarded the same.

Deviance

When someone breaks a social rule such as running a red light, stealing , or underage drinking they are considered To be deviant. I'm pretty sure were all guilty when it comes to breaking the social norms. Even though the social norms helps the society stay in order we all have had to break at least one of them because as humans we tend to want to cheat around things and take the easy way out sometimes it's in our nature to break them it would be one boring place if none of us broke the Norms.rules are meant to be broken. At the end of the day we all at one point didn't follow our norms so I guess we are all considered deviant .
